【主讲人简介】：
Chris is an electrical engineering and science graduate from Adelaide University and received his PhD from UNSW in 1976. He has worked in Industry with Marconi Avionics in UK and then with GEC Australia, and then as Managing Director of the Automation and Engineering Applications Centre Ltd., a non-profit company of the University of Wollongong, which built and installed automation and robotic systems for manufacturing companies around Australia. He became Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Wollongong and Head of School for 12 years before taking up his current position as Dean in 2002. His own research activities are in robotics, industrial automation and power engineering. He is on the Boards of two of the Australian Government's National Research Centres (in Rail and in Energy Pipelines) and currently holds several national competitive grants with Industry partners.
Chris Cook教授，博导，澳大利亚卧龙岗大学工程学院院长，1976年获得博士学位后，曾在英国Marconi Avionics担任设计航天计算系统的项目工程师，之后在通用电气澳大利亚分公司的自动化与控制部门担任技术主管，卧龙岗大学非盈利组织Automation and Engineering Applications Centre Ltd.创始人。主要研究领域：工业自动化，机器人学和动力工程。

Chris will give an overview of current research activities in the Engineering Schools at University of Wollongong. This research has very large industry involvement and funding and includes strong engagement with national and international companies and institutions. The Faculty also contributes to research projects in national Cooperative Research Centres (CRC’s) in Energy Pipelines, Rail, and Defence. Diverse activities ranging from robotics to nano-technology, additive manufacturing, superconductors, new generation housing and high speed rail will be described. Many ways in which industries can take advantage of and engage with University research activities will also be discussed.
Chris Cook教授将针对其在卧龙岗大学工学院所研究的项目为我院研究生做一场报告会。该研究项目有着大量国内外公司、企业、机构的参与和资金支持，并且参与此项目的人员目前均在国家合作研究中心参与有关能源管道、铁路及国防方面的研究。在此报告会上，Chris Cook教授将会介绍机器人制造、纳米技术、添加制造、超导体、新一代住房和高速铁路等研究项目，同时，他也会讲述可令企业获益的方法及有企业参与的大学研究活动。
